It’s the new year. We made it. Around this time we all start thinking about what happened last year, what are we going to do differently this year and what bad habits we are already falling back into, etc. Not to worry. The great thing is we have this blank canvas to start again. For me, the first step was to completely revamp this SheSpeaking space. At first this space was just for me to share my own personal growth. What I realized is life is so much bigger than just me but more so how we can all grow, share and affect change together no matter how big or small the platform. We can do so much more by sharing resources, exposing each other to what’s happen in our own neighborhood as well as abroad; the list goes on and on.
Contributors, females and males, are invited to write stories on a wide range of issues we face: politics (nationally and locally), education, resources to help us, activism and so much more. This is not just sharing your own opinion but more an effort to bring greater awareness for the greater good. For example, is there an opportunity where neighborhood can adopt a school to donate supplies and/or volunteer for a reading program? Share it here. Did read or re-read a really great book that may not be on the best seller list but it worth spreading the word for discussion? Share it here. We pay a lot of attention to the national elections but the local elections are just a critical if not more. Who’s running? What’s their platform? Share it here.
